Reform DJs

harvey bailey

Harvey has been DJing for over 30 years. His style is unique and impossible to label as one genre. It ranges from the old skool garagey US sound of the early nineties to upfront dubby, tribal, jackin underground house with all sorts inbetween; but it’s always bumpin’, top quality music with lashings of pixie dust. A DJ of superior calibre and experience, Harvey is able to read a crowd through every stage of the evening from warm up to the graveyard shift and is a master at creating the perfect party atmosphere day or night.

Experience

Strongbow Tent -  most major festivals around the country

Festival Tour resident, Strongbow Lounge
Homelands, Essential Festival, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, God’s Kitchen Global Gathering, Mardi Gras, Mezz Ball, Ministry @ Knebworth, Leeds Carling, Guildford Live, GLA Respect@Finsbury Park and Bristol Ashton Court.
Harvey played 2-hour afternoon sets and 2-hour headline sets (between 1am and 4am) at the country’s biggest festivals for 2 years, regularly filling the tent to capacity.

Reform, 1993 - present day (100+ parties)
150 - 1000 capacity venues. Underground parties in woods, warehouses, stables, boats, caves, churches, clubs.... South Coast and London.

Harvey has headlined every Reform party since 1993. Reform built it’s reputation not by having ‘big name’ DJs, but by Harvey and his team of unique DJs, building Reform into a well-respected and legendary underground night. The name Reform is synonymous with quality music, unique, underground venues and good party atmosphere and that is 100% down to Harvey & fellow DJ’s musical prowess and crowd-pleasing skills.

Mud Club, 2005 - 2010
 Nightclub, Bognor Regis

Harvey, with partner Emma created the Mud Club in 2005. Having done Reform parties in different venues across the south, it was a natural progression to open a club. The club played host to such a wide variety of dance music styles, and the DJs who played there read like a who’s who of the DJ world.

Rox 2002 & 2015 / 2016 / 2017 - Music & Arts Festival

2 day festival in August attracting 12,000 to Fontwell Racecourse, West Sussex, and Bognor Regis Seafront
. The mighty 42k Reform Sound System took care of the dance stage at Rox 2002, attracting huge crowds to see Harvey headlining on the Saturday night, and Reform created the ‘Ibiza Rox’ Beach Party at the 2015 / 2016 & 2107  events which attracted thousands during the day through till 3am.

Spiritual Element
Old Skool Nights @ The Concorde2, Brighton

Reform - led by Harvey Bailey - were the obvious choice to do Room 2 at these very popular Old Skool nights. Reform's ethos has always been to keep the old skool vibe alive so it's a mix that works particularly well. In the main room are the likes of Grooverider, Easygroove, RatPack, MC Mad P etc.

2 yr residency ‘Groove Juice’
Toppers, Bognor Regis
As resident, warmed up for Terry Francis, Mr.C, Bushwacka, Dave Angel, Luke Slater, Aubrey, Femi B to name but a few.

jim frost

Jim's CV also reads like a Who's Who of major events. Partnering Harvey Bailey in the Strongbow tent and for Lipton, Jim's style is different to Harvey's, providing a complimenting warm up or chill down. Warm ups seem to be missing from clubbing these days and Jim is one of those who does the job well in this department.

Jim's credits include:Homelands, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, God's Kitchen Global Gathering, Essential Festival, Mardi Gras, V2002, Ministry of Sound @ Knebworth, Leeds Carling, Guildford Live, GLA Respect Festival and Bristol Ashton Court. Strongbow Festival Tour Resident 2000 - 2001 and Lipton Ice Tea Festival Resident 2001. Clubs & Events: Prophecy, Ground Zero, Object, Funky Buddah Lounge Brighton, Southern Exposure, Empire Bognor Regis.

jamie dufty

Jamie and Harvey both started their journeys into house music at a similar time, both going out to the various nights together and both got irretrievably hooked on those hypnotic house beats. However it was Jamie that first took the plunge and invested in Technics decks and had a go at DJing. He showed Harvey the ropes and they both spent hours and hours spinning tunes and learning the craft. When the Football Club nights started, Jamie was for many meany years, the right hand man in terms of music - his style was funky and he performed the ideal warm up sets at Reform, and played at many private parties over the years. It was Jamie that came up with the name 'Reform' and in later years, Jamie bought a sound system and regularly set it up for parties, most notably the Ibiza Rox parties. When Jamie moved from the area, he hosted a memorable farewell party at Woodies with E-Mix, and has continued to throw parties in Cornwall where he is now based.

big skins
For years Skins was Reform's publicity machine. He also began to hone his DJ skills and he brought to the table a fresh phat helping of bouncin hip-hop and funk which was always extremely popular on home turf. He graced the decks at various festivals for Lipton Ice Tea and at the X-treme Channel's Wakeboarding event at Thorpe Park as well as many of Reform's 'second rooms'. He was responsible for shaping the sounds in the second room when space allowed along with Dave Kus to ensure there is a varied and eclectic mix of music through the night. Ontop of this he was also putting on his own monthly hip-hop and funk nights locally with the superb Mr. Krum (also a part-time Reform DJ) which were always packed out. We are devastaed beyond belief to have lost this monumental part of the reform family and he will always be celebrated and remembered in every event we do.

misery kutz

MiseryKutz doesn't conform to one style. His multi-genre back catalogue of music started when he bought some turntables at the age of 15, starting mainly with Hip Hop and Funk.

Fast forward 11 years which is when he first played out of the bedroom/house parties and into the upstairs room at The Mud Club with long time friend Simon Rimington AKA- Amunity@WRKS as a duo called Break The Funk.  After DJ-ing alongside each other mixing Breakbeat and Funky Party Breaks for lots of gigs at The Mud Club and surrounding areas, Simon had to hang up the headphones due to tinnitus, but this didn't stop MiseryKutz chasing the bigger crowds.

Getting residencies in Brighton for Supercharged, Kung-Fu and Resonance, and in Portsmouth for Rubber-Dub and Element, saw his name alongside warming up for the likes of Plump DJs, The Nextmen and Scratch Perverts to name a few....

So what came next?? Bagging many years at the famous Boomtown Fair, journeying in and out of Hip Hop, Ghetto Funk, Party Breaks, House, Garage, Drum & Bass - whatever the mood took him and the packed crowded tents.

The local area was lacking some kind of event with named DJ's as The Mud Club had been closed many years (sad times) so with the help of DJ Tony Slackshot, the pair put on two alternating nights called Get On It and Jackin'. Get On It - a straight up party based format which brought the likes of A.Skillz, Krafty Kuts, Midfield General, JFB, The Wideboys, The Freestylers, DJ Spooney and Timmi Magic back performing to the area. Jackin' - a more of a head down and dance House night which had Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Colin Dale, Eddie Richards, with the first Jackin' night Harvey Bailey headlining, which kicked it all off!!

In recent years you can find MiseryKutz playing Reform's Funk You and Ibiza Rox events and select parties. A DJ that can start, get the groove going and finish a party by any means possible.
